Details  Audi A4 A5 A6 A7 A8 quattro incl. S/RS

Suitable repairs are available for Audi quattro touring cars inkl. S/RS as well but access and handling are not as convenient as on the SUVs. Based on feedback from our customers we can provide following information:

A4 B6/B7 Type 8E und A6 C6 Type 4F have a very similar prop shaft design. Normally on these models the repair can be done with the shaft in situ. On an A4 8E in only one case it was necessary to loosen and lower the shaft as there was not enough space for adequate access. After removal of the heat shield on an A6 C6 4F 4,2l built 2009 the repair was done within 20min.

For the repairs sold on A4 B8 Type 8K and A5 8T we haven't received any feedback up to now how rectification was done in detail. On A6 C7 Type 4G the repair could always be accomplished as easy as on A6 C6. The design on A7 4G is the same as on A6 C7, so no problems expected.

The design of the prop shaft and the center support mount on A8 D3/D4 Type 4E/4H is very similar to the A4 and A6 series respectively but we did not receive any detailed feedback regarding access and handling yet.

Suitable repairs are also available for older A4 B5 Type 8D and A6 C5 Type 4B and A8 D2 Type 4D. On A4 B5 the outer ring seems to be compact enough that the repair can easily be done with the shaft in situ. On A6 C5 and A8 D2 it may be helpful to lower the shaft for better access. A 55mm or 60mm OD bearing may be installed, please measure prior to an order! In addition please check shaft condition prior to an order because very often the ball bearing and/or the cardan joint are worn out on those mature models.

Two different configurations of the cardan joints are used on those models. In case of the short attachment the installation needs to be done with the blue rubber replacement attached to the roller bearing first, please see *** in the repair instruction A4 B5, A6 C5, A8 D2. We have been told this *** procedure was done on an A6 C5 without any problems.
